A Surprise Visit! - Mrs. Krantz and Mrs. O'Loughlin

Mrs. Krantz and Mrs. O'Loughlin had a surprise for the preschoolers today!! Captain Whetzel of the District 12 Fire Department visited our preschool! Captain Whetzel showed the differences between wildfire gear and structural fire gear! Hearing about smoke jumpers (firefighter who jump out of planes) was very interesting to this group! He also told us something we didn't know about Dalmatian dogs! Ask your preschooler if they remember the job of the fire dogs!

Captain Whetzel also brought the big truck! And each preschooler had a chance to climb aboard!

We are so thankful for amazing helpers and heroes like Captain Whetzel!!

Dogs and Costumes - Mrs. Krantz AM and PM Classes

This morning we had a wonderful visitor at the end of class time!  Drex came in for a visit.  The preschoolers loved this sweet dog and he even showed us a few tricks!

This afternoon was costume day and the preschoolers did not disappoint!  What fun we had all dressed up!

Thursday morning is our end of the year Bug Party at 10:15am and then at 1:45pm!  The party will be at the church.  Family is invited to attend.  Special thanks to those helping out with everything for these parties!

Thursday evening at 6:30pm is our Closing Program and Graduation!  Preschoolers will sit with parents during the program until they are called up for their parts.  We start promptly at 6:30pm and go quickly through.  A short reception will follow downstairs.

Wrapping Things Up - Mrs. Wilson

Sock Buddies, Lobsterpots, Oceans and Aquariums. Good Books, Song Practice, Time together, and several choices… It is hard to believe its coming to an end.

We had fun today choosing props for our Closing Program. Can’t wait for you to see these saltwater singers! Preschoolers also chose a little ocean friend to catch in their lobsterpots. These fun gifts came home today with a candy ocean-pop and a hand painted buoy by your
preschooler.

Our sock-buddies also went home today! Their “hair” is growing so nicely, some might need a little trim soon, or some even may need a shave! How fun to see how seeds grow and use what God has built into nature to make new and fun things too! These buddies will grow best out of the bags, when the sock is kept moist and in a sunny place.

Thanks for sending in some books. The preschoolers have really  enjoyed them. I think Miss Stahlecker enjoyed the silliness of our closing book today too!

Don’t forget our bug party on Thursday at 10:15! We will have a lot of fun saying goodbye and enjoying bug time with our preschool friends.  Then we will see you again for the closing program, which starts PROMPTLY at 6:30.

Thanks for a great day together preschoolers!

Chapel and Practice - Mrs.Krantz

We started out our morning with a Happy Birthday celebration and then headed over for our last Chapel!  After chapel we practiced the program with the downstairs class.  Practice can be kinda boring, but the preschoolers did a great job.  I'm looking forward to Thursday evening!

Last Chapel and a Bunny! - Mrs. O'Loughlin

We had our very last chapel today! Worshipping with these preschoolers is one of my favorite things to do! Their joy, energy and child like faith is the best!

Both classes got in some very good Closing Program and Graduation practice!! Thursday evening is going to be so much fun!!

A tiny bunny was discovered in the backyard by one of our friends! How amazing to have an outdoor area that is also home to such cute little creatures!

Mrs. Wilson's Weekly Newsletter: May 24-26

Wow… the last week of preschool is here! So hard to believe a year is wrapping up already. This week will be filled with practice for the closing program including a practice together with Mrs. Krantz’s class on Tuesday, and other rehearsals at the church. We will continue reading any favorite books that the preschoolers bring, and choosing activities that they enjoy most. We will spend extra time outside as weather allows, and wrap it all up with our end of the year BUGS party at 10:15 on Thursday. Families are very welcome to join in for our final
fling!

The Closing Program and Graduation is on Thursday evening at the church at 6:30pm.  We start promptly at 6:30 and move quickly through in order to keep the attention of just about 50 preschoolers!  A short, light reception follows downstairs.  This is a program that all
preschoolers will participate in and those moving on next year will graduate.  It is a fun evening for everyone! If your preschooler enjoys dressing up, this is a great opportunity for them to enjoy being fancy!  But please come as you are comfortable!

Words can’t express how blessed and thankful I am to have shared this year with your amazing preschoolers and their families! Thank you for sharing them with us. They are very special!

Strawberry Shortcake- Mrs. Krantz PM Class

We had a delicious afternoon!  A special Mom came in and made Strawberry Shortcake with us!  The preschoolers measured and mixed and enjoyed the final result... this teacher enjoyed the delicious ending as well!

A Visiting Chicken! - Mrs. Krantz AM Class

What fun it was to have a chicken visit our class!  We enjoyed watching her peck and scratch at the ground in search of bugs.  She was one hungry chicken!  She didn't mind children at all and everyone got a chance to pet her soft feathers!

SHARE Day - Mrs. Wilson

SHARE DAY, popcorn, Creamy blue cupcakes, Happy Birthday summer birthdays, caps balancing on heads, flowers, seeds and more…

Not one wasted moment in our last days together here in preschool!

Donut Day - Mrs. Krantz

Donut Day was a complete success!  Many preschoolers wanted me to share with their families just how we made these scrumptious donuts, so you can do it at home!  Many thanks to Mrs. Knight for helping us out today!

Take a can of biscuits (not the flaky kind)
Flatten them out a bit
Fry in deep oil on each side for two minutes
Cool a bit
Frost and decorate as you want

Pajama Day + SHARE Day + Donut Day = Best Day Ever! - Mrs. O'Loughlin

What a fabulous morning we had at preschool today!! This jammie clad group started with SHARE at circle. Centers was spent playing with these shares, designing our own pajamas, creating cards with fancy paper, and reading some wonderful books in the library!

We went over to the church to practice our closing program song! And when we got back, it was donut time!! Thank you Mrs. Knight for coming in and making yummy donuts with us!!

Friday is our last science with Mr. Levi!!

Today in a Few Pictures - Mrs. Krantz AM and PM Class

This may look a bit like synchronized dancing, but they are working to figure out how to reach and pick the newly growing pine cones off the tree!  Balance is everything!

Pajama day inspired this artist to create pajamas people of his own.  Slippers were even part of the design!

Both classes enjoyed chapel with Pastor Rich today.  This is the afternoon class hearing about Jesus being the light of the world and His light reflects off of us and shines brightly for the world to see.  We can share that light and love with everyone around us!

The dollhouse has been inspiring all kinds of fun and creative play the last week or so.  These two are playing police officers and firefighters, saving people in danger!

Caps for Sale - Mrs. Wilson

There was a lot of laughing and monkey business in preschool today! Everyone was captivated as we read through and acted out our story. The preschoolers just cracked up at how the monkeys sounded as they mimicked the peddler with the cap on his head. The morning was all about balancing and selling caps from our heads. This was after chapel (Maybe your preschooler remembers why Pastor Rich shined a light into a mirror…) and song practice, and before snack and recess. Outside we enjoyed a visit from a gigantic slug and checking out the little sprouts and roots on our sock buddies! A lot of fun was had by all! Ask your preschooler how that cap peddler was able to balance his caps so well… We realized it was not an easy thing to do once we tried it!

See you Thursday! Remember, snack will be provided via Summer Birthday cakes and popcorn day!

Park Day - Mrs. O'Loughlin

We had a fantastic walk and play time at the park! We were so happy those rain clouds moved away so we could have some park fun!! Lots of swinging , teeter-tottering, sliding, Merry-go-rounding, and climbing!! We even celebrated a birthday! Such a fun preschool morning with a great group of preschoolers!

SHARE Day - Mrs. Krantz

What fun SHARE Day is!  So many new things to see and explore and friends ready to tell all about their special items.  SHARE went very well and then we headed over to the church for our first big practice for the closing program.  I am very excited for the preschoolers and for you all to see what they will be doing!

Outside time was full of running games.  Theses kiddos just love to run!  They did stop for a moment to admire a rather large slug on the side of the preschool.

A birthday celebration was the highlight of the day!

Tuesday is PJ Day
Wednesday is Donut Day
Thursday is our last SHARE Day and PM Strawberry Shortcake Day
Friday is Volcano Day

Mrs. Wilson's Weekly Newsletter: May 17-19

WOW! We only have 4 (FOUR!) preschool days left!!! They will be full of fun, and a lot of that will be as the preschoolers choose favorite things…centers, outside time, popcorn, good books… There is no lack of good things to fill our days full to overflowing.

This week we have our final chapel on Tuesday morning, and our final SHARE Day on Thursday morning. On Thursday we will also celebrate our summer birthdays. No need to bring snack on Thursday, as Mrs. Wilson will provide for the celebration! (If your preschooler has a summer birthday and wishes to add their own set of cupcakes to the party mix, please let me know on Tuesday.)

We will be spending time reading good books together for our final two weeks too. If your preschooler has a favorite book they want to share, send it on in and we will do our best to read them all by the last day! We will kick off the books with one of my favorites, Caps For Sale. If you have a cap or two to send in with your preschooler, that would be a lot of fun!

Our days will be rounded out with worship time and song rehearsal for the closing ceremony on Thursday evening, May 26 th . The class has been hard at work getting ready to sing their songs for everyone.

Be on the lookout for sign up sheets to help out for our last day Bug Party! It will be a lot of fun!

Mrs. O'Loughlin's Weekly Newsletter: May 16-20

I can’t believe we only have two more weeks left of preschool. How did the year go by this fast?!

Our last days are Preschooler’s Choice! Together, the preschoolers came up with a list of things they want to do before summer. On the top of that list is “play outside.” I wanted to one up that and take these kids to McGee Park!  So…Monday is PARK DAY! No need to pack a snack because we will be celebrating a birthday, and the birthday boy is bringing cupcakes! Make sure your preschooler has sunscreen, hat/sunglass, socks and walking shoes on! Please pack a water bottle that I’ll carry over! We will be leaving right away (after everyone uses the bathroom) and walking to the park! I already have 3 parents volunteering to walk along with us. But if you would like join us, please let me know! Siblings too! If the rain decides to come down, Park Day will be cancelled and rescheduled for Friday!

Wednesday is Pajama Day! Wear your jammies and bring along a snuggly friend! It is also SHARE Day!  AND…Donut Day! We will be making and decorating donuts!

Friday is our last science with Mr. Levi!  Along with Mrs. Krantz’s class, we will observe some exciting eruptions!

In worship we will hear an amazing story about God helping Peter do a miraculous thing! The bible promises us that God will help us! And we know that God keeps His promises!

This group has been working hard on their closing program song! We will head over to the church and get some practicing in over there!
