Easter Egg Hunt

We had a fantastic fun day today! We started out with a great visit from our friendly police officer. He showed us his gear, talked about safety, answered lots of questions, listened to some funny stories and showed us his car. The kids loved the stickers and pencils they were given at the end of his visit.

Our Easter Egg Hunt was a big highlight of our day. I would post pictures, but they all turned out blurry! Kids is massive action. It was wonderful!

We finished the morning adding grout to our cross mosaics at art with Miss Holly. They turned out beautiful!

Just a reminder that there will not be preschool next week as we will be having conferences instead. A reminder slip was put in your take home cubby and I will also be sending out email reminders.

Police Officer Visit

We had a great time visiting with our Police Officer friend! He told us all about his gear, answered almost 1,000 questions, showed us his police car with all the lights and sirens, and helped us learn some great safety things! We also got police badge stickers and some awesome pencils that change color when they are touched. Awesome!

We also had chapel with Pastor Dudley and found some interesting things inside a golden egg. Ask your preschooler what was inside!

We burned lots of energy running and playing outside. The wind blew bubbles for us and we chased them all around! We also added some ribbons to our fence to watch what happens to them in the wind.

Easter Egg Hunts are tomorrow and Friday at 10:45am. Family is welcome to attend!

Run, Come See...

We started our morning off by singing a name song to introduce one another to our new preschooler! Then we heard the story of Easter and sang a song about the stone rolling away. The preschoolers LOVED the song. Maybe your can sing it to you!

Centers time included cross making, Easter artwork, Easter basket making and assessments with Mrs. Krantz!

We spent some time outside in the sunshine. We aren't complaining, but it would be nice to have a day without wind!

Music with Miss Marsha ended our morning as we played out the story of Peter and the Wolf.

Our Egg Hunt is on Thursday at 10:45am. Siblings are welcome to join!

Easter Joy!

Easter joy was all around this morning as we read the story of Jesus Resurrection, made glittery Easter baskets, made centerpiece cross art projects, and created tissue paper flowers and butterflies! We enjoyed time outside running, biking, digging, climbing and sliding. The sunshine was glorious! We ended the day with Music as we learned and acted out the story of Peter and the Wolf. Our Easter Egg Hunt is Thursday and Friday at 10:45am. Siblings are welcome to join us! We will also have a police officer visiting us on Wednesday and Thursday morning!

Welcome to Holy Week! This week we will be celebrating Easter and the resurrection of Jesus! We will be using our baskets for our Easter Egg Hunts that will be on Thursday and Friday at 10:45. Siblings are welcome to come! Loving this Spring Weather!

Today was an all around lovely day. We started out with some planting, and continued on with exlporing soil, digging and counting rocks and twigs, creating flowers and butterflies, making Easter art, working with numbers and pegs and much more.

We heard the story of Good Friday today and were very happy to know that Good Friday is not the end of the story. Our journey through Holy Week ends on Easter with a wonderful celebration!

We celebrated a birthday, played 4 Corners and headed outside to enjoy a good chunk of time in the sunshine. There wasn't even wind today! It was marvelous to see the kids riding bike, building balancing activities with large blocks, digging in the sand, turning maginifiying glasses into cameras, sliding, climbing and running in the sun! SPECTACULAR!!! Let's all pray for this kind of weather for our field trips tomorrow and Thursday!

Mrs. Barrington's ewe finally had her lambs! We will be headed out to her house on Thursday to see the new arrivals. Our M/W/F group is welcome to come along as long as a parent comes along too! It is sure to be fun as we see this new life!

Today we planted tomato plants and read a book about a bear and bunny who both tried to grow tomatoes in their gardens. One was successful, one was not. Ask your preschooler to tell you the story!

During centers we got busy digging in the soil and planting seeds and watering them in the sensory table. We also made different art projects, had a owl nest and drew maps.

Jesus Time was about Good Friday. We had a lot of questions about Jesus dying on the cross and we were happy to know the rest of the story... that it doesn't end on the cross! We drew a picture that showed how Jesus made a bridge for us to be with Him forever!

Music with Miss Marsha had a lot of dancing as we snake danced and danced down a lane with partners. We also listened to the guitar and sang about Uncle Jessie and a Police Officer named Leroy!

Our field trip to the Dugger's farm on Wednesday. WE ARE IN NEED OF PARENT DRIVERS! If you can come along, please let me know ASAP! Thanks!

Planting a Garden

We have a fun an exciting week planned! We will be going on our make-up field trip this Wednesday. We’ll be headed out between 9:15 and 9:30 and will be returning by 11:30. If you are a T/Th family, you are welcome to join us, but a parent is required to attend as well. Rest assured that we will still be taking a trip to visit baby lambs just as soon as they are born! That trip will be on a T or Th. We will also be busy planting this week as well as creating flower garden art. I will also be doing some assessments with the preschoolers as I prepare for conferences.

This week we will be talking about Good Friday. We will be making cross artwork, and reading the Bible Story.

If you haven’t signed up for a conference time and wish to do so, please make sure to add your name to the list by the sign in/out binder.

Today was SHARE Day and the kids all had fun sharing items that belonged to them! It has been a pleasure to watch them grow in the public speaking abilities! Centers time included making tissue paper flowers, creating Easter art, building robots, reading one-on-one with a parent volunteer and watercolor painting. It was a wonderful time full of sharing, helping one another and enjoying friends! Chapel with Pastor Dudley was great as we learned the story of Lazarus. We sang some great songs and even taught Pastor Dudley our Swahili praise song. He really liked it. We ended our morning making kites with Miss Holly at art time. The kites turned out quite wonderful, each one unique! Next Wednesday the 13th will be our make up field trip out to the Dugger's farm to check out the farm equipment. If you are a T/Th family, you are welcome to join, but a parent needs to come along. Our field trip to see the baby lambs, that still haven't been born, will be on a Tuesday or Thursday.

Today we did some comparing and contrasting of spring time flowers. We also learned a poem about yellow daffodils. We turned the poem a little silly by each choosing our own color for the daffodils. Ask you preschooler what color they chose! Centers time included drawing flower pictures and writing about them, creating tissue paper flowers and butterflies, lots of work at the writing table, white board writing and lots of kitchen play in dramatic play. The wind, rain, hail and all around cold weather kept us inside. We enjoyed some parachute play as well as moving to the music. We walked, ran, hopped, skated and tiptoed to different sounds. SHARE Day is Thursday and Friday this week. We will be having a field trip out to the Dugger's Farm on Wednesday April 13th. Look for permission slips! The baby lambs still have not been born, so we will wait a little longer to plan that trip!

Delightful Day!

Everyone was happy to see their friends again after our week of spring break! We were amazed at the size of our beans! They really grew while we were away! Centers time included making flowers with slices of cardboard tubes, creating colorful wind socks, making scientific drawings of our beans, puzzles and robot building! Music with Miss Marsha was lots of fun with dancing, bird songs, fish drawing and harp playing. We also did a little work with rhythms! SHARE Day is Thursday. Our field trips will be next week.

Springing into Action

We got right down to business as usual today as we welcomed each other back to preschool from Spring Break. We were amazed to see what our beans had done while we were gone. We took notice of several things... lots of stringy roots, talk stalks, leaves and the leftover brown covering from the bean. We measured one that was 9 inches tall! Centers time included making wind socks, perfect for spring on the Palouse! We also made scientific drawings of our beans, played owls, made elaborate buildings for our doll house people, did patterning and other creative art projects. Jesus Time was about Jesus' Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. We heard the story and made our own palm branches. We learned the word "Hosanna" and practiced it while waving our palms all around. We also learned a great Hosanna song. Ask your preschooler to sing it to you! Music with Miss Marsha included a brand new bird! We had birds sing solos and in quartets. We also drew a picture of a fish as we sang the instructions in Japanese. It was a delightful time. FIELD TRIP UPDATE... We will be taking a field trip to the Dugger's Farm to see the farm equipment next week on Wednesday April 13th. We will leave between 9:15 and 9:30 and return by 11:30. The baby lambs still have not been born, so we are on hold until they make their debut! I'll keep you posted!

The sign up sheet for conferences is now available. Please sign up for a time slot that will work well for you. There will not be preschool the week of conferences, however you are welcome to bring your preschooler along during your conference time. Mrs. Barrington will be available for some one-on-one play time with your child while we meet.

Welcome back! I hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break. We had one great day of weather! We are jumping into spring in preschool. We will be taking a very close look at what our beans did while we were gone and reading a book about a tiny seed. We will also be comparing and contrasting different spring flowers. There is a strong possibility we will be field tripping on Thursday and Friday visiting different farms. Watch for more information. If we do go on field trips, SHARE Day will be moved to the following week. I will keep everyone up to date with notes and entries on the blog. We will need parent volunteers on our trips! This month we will be journeying through the stories of Holy Week up through Easter! This week we will be talking about Palm Sunday and learning the word “Hosanna!”
