Lights

We learned about Christmas in Australia today. Their Christmas is in the middle of summer, so it looks very different than our Christmas! They also gather together and light candles on Christmas Eve.

During centers time we created all kinds of things out of play do and some preschoolers worked on their own creative balancing investigations! Amazing dinosaur colonies were built and some serious game playing was done with the Candlyland floor game.

During Jesus Time we heard about the angels telling the shepherd about the birth of baby Jesus! The preschoolers enjoyed saying some of the phrases of the story including "Glory to God in the Highest!"

Music with Miss Marsha was very special today. She told us about Christmas and Advent in Sweden. They use a lot of candles and lights because it is very dark in Sweden. We saw some crafts they make, dolls they decorate with, learned they love pigs and heard a book read to us from Sweden. We danced to Swedish music and celebrated "Santa Lucia" or Festival of Lights. Ask your preschooler what we did!

Thanks for all the food coming in! Remember that our Christmas Party is on Friday at 10:45. Family is welcome to join in on the fun!

What Star is This?

Today we learned about a Christmas tradition in Romania that includes metal covered stars. We made our own stars with paper stars and aluminum foil. They turned our quite lovely. We also worked our fine motor muscles making beaded Christmas ornaments and writing on white boards. Several preschoolers took measuring tapes and measured all kinds of things. Others made graphs and charts on the teacher easel. We also did some stencil work and some great counting. We sorted through our donated food and found out that so far the vegetable group has the most items. Wonderful!

At Jesus Time we sat around the lighted Christmas tree and read a story called "What Star is This." Of course it was about the star that lit the sky when Jesus was born. We talked about the Bible and how it told the story of Jesus birthday and then the preschoolers told me the story from their memories. I wish I had a video camera. It was delightful!

Mmmm... candy

Today we learned about Christmas in Mexico and we all know what is inside a pinata! So we each had a few pieces of candy to celebrate! We also did a science investigation and learned that heat rises. Special thanks to our dancing deer under the candle for helping us figure that one out!

We spent time today making cards and pictures for a fellow preschooler who has been ill. We also made glittery napkin rings for the Christmas season. Stamping and painting also were part of our morning.

At Jesus Time we enjoyed the story of Jesus' birth read by the fireplace. We sang some Christmas songs and thanked God for sending Jesus!

Music with Miss Marsha was fabulous as we danced, played the bells, heard a fun gingerbread story and kept the beat to the Little Drummer Boy!

We are still collecting food for the food bank. So far we have 24 food items!

Lots of Love

Today we learned that Christmas in Japan is similar to our Valentines Day. Lots of people get married on Christmas and it not a religious holiday for most people in Japan. So today, we made symmetrical hearts. We traced a stencil or drew a heart, cut it out, painted one side of it, folded it in two and discovered what happened! We also did some stamping, building, open Christmas art and shiny sensory table fun.

We sat by the fireplace and read the story of Jesus birth today for Jesus Time. It was wonderful to sit by the warm fire and read the Bible about the birth of our Savior! We sang a few songs and prayed a prayer of thanksgiving for Jesus!

Music with Miss Marsha was today and we did a lot of new things. Ask you preschooler about the gingerbread man and the lady named Lucy with a baby named Tim!

We will continue learning about Christmas around the world with the help of Addy the Advent Angel. This week she will be sharing about Christmas in Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Romania and Poland. We will be taking some of those traditions and incorporating them into our work at centers time. We will also be stamping, writing on Christmas stationary, making some wonderfully fun Christmas crafts, working on our number line and doing a little bit of jingling! Don’t forget we are collecting food all through December. We will continue to count a sort what comes in and talk about how we are helping others in need!

This week during our Jesus Time circle we will hear the story of the birth of Jesus! We will be singing songs and playing games to help us experience the wonder of this miracle!

We will plan on going outside some during these snowy days, so please provide snow clothes for you preschooler to wear outside… boots, mittens, hats, and warm coat. Snow pants are great too!

Fresh Herbs and Wooden Crosses

This is a tradition in Greece. They take the crosses with herbs tied to them, dip them in water and sprinkle water throughout their homes. We made some of our own this morning... the classroom smelled so good! We also made paper chain, formed mangers our of clay and added a few more numbers to our number line.

Chapel with Pastor Dudley was today and we learned a little more about the Advent Wreath and John the Baptist. We sang songs, said prayers and enjoyed the beautiful trees in the sanctuary!

Art with Miss Holly was today, but I can't tell you what we did... it's a secret. You'll find out when you open your Christmas gifts at home!

Paper Chains and Snow

Addy the Advent Angel told us about Christmas in China today! One of their traditions is to make paper chains to decorate their tree. We made paper chains and advent wreaths during centers with the help of some wonderful classroom volunteers. We also built a manger for baby Jesus, dressed up as animals to visit him and wrapped him tight in a blanket. Preschoolers were also busy mailing letters to friends and family in our classroom mailbox!

We took time to enjoy the beautiful snow outside. The preschoolers loved rolling in the snow, making snow angels, and chasing one another. We even had a baby snow crocodile!

Remember to bring snow clothes for your preschooler so we can enjoy some wonderful snow time! We are also collecting food for the food bank all through this month.

A Note About School Cancellations

If Pullman School District has a late start or is cancelled, preschool will not be in session. I will post the preschool cancellation on this blog page by 7am, if preschool is cancelled.

Fish Scales

On this wonderfully snowy day, we met Addy the Advent Angel who will be with us every morning to tell us about Advent and Christmas traditions from around the world. Today we learned about the Czech Republic. They put fish scales under their dinner plate at Christmas for good luck! We made fish with colorful scales during centers and put a scale under our snack time plates! Don't worry, they weren't stinky!

We also made paper advent wreaths today as we learn all about waiting for the birth of Jesus. We heard the story of the angel coming to Mary and telling her that she was going to be the Mother of Jesus!

Out number line is coming along. Check out the wall by the tables to see our number line grow. If your preschooler brought home their own number line, consider putting it up in their room or somewhere they can enjoy seeing their hard work!

We ended the day with Music with Miss Marsha. We sang angel songs and played the drums. We also played a game called Lucy Locket. Ask you preschooler how it worked!

Welcome to the season of Advent! This is by far my favorite season to teach. Each morning we will look at how children is different countries celebrate Advent and Christmas. Then, during centers time, the preschoolers will have the opportunity to bring to life some of those traditions. We will also be doing lots with numbers and counting. The preschoolers will be creating a number line for our classroom as well as their own personal number line for home. This month we will be collecting canned food items for the Food Bank, and those donations will be counted and sorted by your children!

This week during our Jesus Time circle we will hear the story about Mary hearing the news that she will be the mother of baby Jesus! We will be building baby beds, taking care of babies and take some time to practice waiting!

We will plan on going outside some during these snowy days, so please provide snow clothes for you preschooler to wear outside… boots, mittens, hats, and warm coat. Snow pants are great too!

Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse!

That's right, Mickey turned 82 today! We celebrated during art with Miss Holly. We learned all about the color wheel by mixing colored frosting to make different colors. With frosted cookies, we sang a birthday mouse who makes us smile!

During circle we shared about our Thanksgiving traditions and shared our special SHARE items. It is always fun to see what the preschoolers bring to SHARE Day.

Centers was full of thanksgiving as we made turkey headbands, created Thanksgiving scenes and played in the corn. We also beaded special bracelets, played with our SHARE items and did some great building with connectors.

During Jesus Time we shared about things that God gives us that we NEED that we are thankful for. Jackets, blankets, homes, family, love, food, and chocolate all made the list. (The chocolate was from Miss Holly and Mrs. Barrington)!

Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving Break.

Sharing Thanksgiving

We started our day with some of our preschoolers sharing about their Thanksgiving celebrations. If you forgot to send your child's paper today, no worries, we'll do more sharing on Friday! It is fun to see what each family does and what foods the preschoolers like the most. Sharing our family traditions with one another is a great way to understand each other and how each family is unique!

Thanksgiving scenes with Pilgrims and Native Americans were made today, although not by everyone. They will be available on Friday too if your preschooler didn't make one. A member from our congregation made cut outs, much like paper dolls, for the preschoolers to put together to make the Thanksgiving people. Thanks Kris for making these for the preschoolers! We also wrote letters to one anther, built amazing structures with wooden blocks, did some number games and felt corn cobs, corns husks and corn kernels.

We had chapel with Pastor Dudley and we learned about the man who couldn't walk, was healed and then went walking, leaping and praising God! What a wonderful was to show how thankful we are! When is the last time you leaped in joy tot hank God for his wonderful blessings?

Thursday and Friday are SHARE Days, so remember to send a share with your preschooler. Also send your Thanksgiving paper if you haven't done that already!

Welcome to Preschool Butch!

I was so glad to see that all of our preschoolers were safe and sound after our HUGE wind storm last night. No one blew away with the wind, so all is well!

We had a GREAT time at centers today, as we spent our centers time with Butch, the WSU mascot! He came and brought gifts, signed posters, made corn art, built with the blocks, drew pictures and even played ponies with is new preschool friends! Pictures will be coming.

During Jesus Time we made a list of things we are thankful for. It was a wonderful list including, toys, homes, medicine, cars, churches, preschool and families!

Music with Miss Marsha was great as we all played the drum and we had a fun poem about 5 seashells. We even acted it out.

Please remember that Scholastic Book Orders are due on by Friday and SHARE Day is Thursday.

We are thankful for each one of your children and the beautiful uniqueness they each bring to our classroom. What an incredible blessing to us!

Next to the sign in notebook I have placed our teacher prayer calendar. This calendar has a prayer that Mrs. Barrington and myself pray each day. Will you join us in that daily prayer? Tell Me About Your Turkey

Today we read a book, "Gracias the Thanksgiving Turkey." It is about a little boy who is given a turkey by his father who is a truck driver. Miguel is suppose to fatten the turkey for Thanksgiving. Well, Miguel and the turkey become great friends. He names the turkey Gracias. After reading the wonderfully fun book, we journaled about our turkeys... what our turkey would be named, what we would feed it, where it would live... if we had a turkey. They preschoolers illustrated their stories too.

Centers time was full of thinking power. Play do and mini dinosaurs became fossils, buildings became castles, hand prints, googly eyes and feathers became turkeys. It is wonderful to watch children expand learning in their own ways, without prompting! Those little minds are busy at work while they play!

Ask your preschooler about the great song we learned during Jesus Time. It's pretty catchy, you'll get it pretty quick.

No Preschool tomorrow. Hug a veteran!

Making Lists

We made an amazing list of words that rhyme with CAT this morning at opening circle. Each preschooler came up with a word and it was fabulous to see their minds at work as they worked through the process of finding a word that had the same ending sound! Try this at home, you'll love to see their minds at work!

Centers time was full of sorting, turkey making, hand print tracing, castle building, puzzle making and cutting with scissors.

I had to leave early since my baby isn't feeling well, but I am sure Jesus Time and Music with Miss Marsha were fantastic. I bet your preschooler can tell you all about it!

REMINDER... NO PRESCHOOL ON THURSDAY THIS WEEK

Puzzles All Around

We had lots of puzzles fun today, working on a big floor puzzle, creating our own puzzle posters with our parent volunteer and discovering some tooth puzzles in our puzzles section. Great to see preschool minds at work, figuring out of things fit together and finding clues to help them problem solve!

We made a wonderful list of words that rhyme with red. They came up with a list of over 15 words! We worked with red and green flip crayons during handwriting time too.

Jesus Time talked about being kind to one another. Ask your preschooler how David was kind to Jonathan's son!

We spent some time playing outside in the brisk, cool air. Please remember to bring mittens or gloves along with hat and coat for your preschooler!

Fantastic Fall Day

The warm fall weather had us outside collecting leaves to make our fall shadow boxes. There were plenty of fall leaves on the ground as well as some other signs of fall. The shadow boxes were marvelous!

Jesus Time included a bean bag game practicing being patient even when it is hard to be patient. We also practiced being kind to others even when we wanted to go first, being kind when it is hard.

Outside time included more leaf hunting, looking at the clouds in the sky, running around on the hill, exploring a few nearby trees and dancing!

Art with Miss Holly was a highlight of the day as we looked at the color purple, and how purple was discovered. Ask your preschooler about it. We made capes of purple and blue and decorated them. The preschoolers felt very royal!

Salad Anyone?

What a fabulous day we had today! We made a list of our favorite fall things... jumping in leaves, raking leaves, eating pumpkin pie, crawling under leaves, skate parks, and crisp cool air all made out list. We worked with our flip crayons and colored some awesome fireworks for handwriting time.

Today's group met our hamster friends, and we had a blast watching their crazy antics. These hamsters like lettuce and grapes, so Mrs. Krantz put some treats in their home along with some cotton balls they use for nesting. Stewart filled his cheeks with almost a whole lettuce leaf, went back to his nesting corner and spit it all out! You can imagine what the preschoolers had to say about that!!! Salad anyone?

We mad some delicious apple sauce today which was a HUGE hit at snack time. What a neat process for the preschooler to watch, and apple being turned into applesauce.

We painted with red and yellow and discovered what happens when those two colors mix together and we made some spray paint art work with leaves. Good times today! During Jesus Time we talked about being kind even when it is hard. They came up with some great scenarios and how to be kind. Wonderful, wonderful children!

Music with Miss Marsha was great. Ask you preschooler what instrument he or she got to play today.

Monday, November 1, 2010

All Kinds of Things Going On!

Today was a day of fun and variety! We have two Teddy Bear Hamsters visiting our room for the week, Chewy and Stewart Little. The preschoolers had so much fun watching them, drawing pictures of them, watching them sleep, nibble on ritz crackers and get drinks from their water bottles! They will be with us until the end of the week.

We also made applesauce today and ate it for snack. It was delicious! The preschoolers helped load the apples into the machine, mash them down and turn the crank. Ask your preschooler about what they did to help make our snack today.

At circle we made a list of the things we see in God's Beautiful Fall Creation. The list is posted by the sign in binder.

Music with Miss Marsha included some puppets and different types of instruments. There were three types of instruments we used today... wooden instruments, metal instruments and shaker instruments. Ask you preschooler what they played!

Thankful for Creation

This month we will be concentrating on fallish things and being thankful for all of the blessings God has given us. This week we will focus on being thankful for God’s beautiful creation, including fall leaves in all their brilliant colors and shapes. We will make scientific observations of leaves, go on a leaf hunt, make a shadow box of leaves we collect on a creation leaf hunt and we will be building trees, one in the classroom and one to take home.

During our handwriting time we will start working with our flip crayons to encourage proper grip, work with our colors and strengthen the fine motor muscles for writing. We will be learning a great song about the ant, the bug and the bee!

Our Bible story this week is “David and Saul.” Our verse of the week is “Do good to all people.” Galatians 6:10. God helps us to show His love, even when it is hard to be kind.

THANK YOU so much to everyone who donated items for the Pumpkin Party. I hope everyone had a lot of fun… I know I did!

Have a wonderful week. Think about all of the blessings in your life you can be thankful for! Share some of those things with your preschooler this week!
Mrs. Krantz and Mrs. Barrington

Pumpkin Party Fun

We had a fabulous time at the Pumpkin Party today! A huge thank you to everyone who donated items for the party! Did you know that we had 18 members of the church volunteer their time this morning to run the booths for the kids?!!! Thanks to all those who ran booths... they had just as much fun as the kids, or so they tell me!

If you took pictures at the party, would you mind emailing a few shots to me? I didn't get any pictures taken and I would love to add some to our end of the year DVD. Thanks!

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

A Very Orange Day

This morning we made a list of orange things... a very good and quite comprehensive list of orange items around. Of course we narrowed in on pumpkins! As we looked at their life cycle, the preschooler enjoyed guessing what stage in the life cycle would come next. So fun!

During centers we were busy with life cycle posters, water play, pumpkin art, building with wooden blocks and sorting all kinds of leaves.

We had Chapel with Pastor Dudley today, not our normal day, but he will be leaving to attend his sister's memorial service later this week. He told us a wonderful story about how we are like pumpkins and God's light shines inside us.

Music with Miss Marsha was wonderful as we did the leaf dance and the rain dance. We also met a new bird, the California Quail! Some of the preschoolers took their turn playing the metalaphone, much like a xylophone. It make beautiful music and the preschoolers really enjoy playing it. They are learning how to take good care of the instruments and how to play them correctly. They take such great pride in their abilities! I'm quite proud of them too!

Pumpkin Lifecycle

We got busy this week learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin! We looked at the different stages from seed to orange pumpkin! The preschoolers also had the opportunity to make their own pumpkin life cycle poster. They will have additional opportunity later this week as well.

Centers time was full of dinosaur baths and frog showers in the sensory table as we added water for some wet play on a rainy day. Pumpkin stationary was available to anyone who wanted to write pumpkin letters and we painted pumpkins in a silly way. Ask your preschooler about the painting!

During Jesus Time we talked about David and Jonathan being best friends and we memorized Proverbs 17:17. See if your preschooler can remember it!

Music with Miss Marsha was great fun after we crawled through tunnels, jumped over cones and hopped like frogs on Lilly pads. It was just too wet and windy to head outside! At music we sang about ice cream flavors, pumpkin vines, birds and how great God is!

Pumpkins

I cannot believe that it is already the last week of October! Time sure does fly by. This week we will be learning about the lifecycle of pumpkins and about pumpkins in general. We’ll be pumpkin sorting, creating lifecycle charts, painting pumpkins is crazy ways, writing about pumpkins and digging into pumpkins… literally!

During our handwriting time we will continue using our wood pieces and capital letter cards to discover more about how the letters are formed with big lines, little line, big curves and little curves.

Our Bible story this week is “David and Jonathan are Kind.” Our verse of the week is “A friend loves at all times.” Proverbs 17:17

Have You Ever Seen a Spider on the Wall?

We had fun singing, "Have You Ever Seen a Spider on the Wall?" Ask your preschooler to sing it to you today. We sang it fast, slow and speeds in between. They thought slow was really fun!

Centers time included working on a journal page, drew spider eggs, making scientific drawings of spiders, working with our wood pieces to form letters, creating spider webs with yarn and playing with our peg boards.

During Jesus Time we made a list of things we could do at home to help our families just like David helped his family. Ask your preschooler what he or she added to the list!

We explored outside in the trees today. The trees became an apple orchard and apples were plentiful at the apple sale!

Art with Miss Holly was all about orange. We made our very own pumpkin stamps and created a scene from the poem "5 Little Pumpkins." The preschoolers had so much fun with this activity. Their picture is sure to make a beautiful addition to your fall home decor!

A Beautiful Fall Day

Today was a beautiful day... not just the weather, but the preschoolers were beautiful too. I was reminded throughout the day of the joy in simple things, the joy in saying words in a crazy way. We had so much fun saying the word "tarantula" in scary voices! The giggles brought such joy to my heart! I don't say it enough, but thank you for the opportunity to be part of the lives of such wonderful children!

We had chapel with Pastor Dudley today where he told us just how important children are to Jesus! During centers time we drew spiders, wrote in our journals, made spider webs with yarn and glue, examined spider pictures and the tarantula and had a lot of dinosaur play going on.

Outside time was fabulous. The crisp air felt so good as we ran around and played. The preschoolers used a lot of teamwork as they built a long obstacle course with our big outside blocks. They worked very well together to accomplish this task. Every single block was used and they took turns walking the obstacle course path. Another thing of beauty, seeing the preschoolers working together to accomplish a common goal and then having fun with their finished product! A truly beautiful day.

A Big Spider

Today we were greeted by a very large spider... a tarantula. No worries, it wasn't alive! It was encased so we were able to take a close look at it. We also looked at some pictures of spiders. We counted legs and learned more spider facts.

During centers we painted spider webs, drew spiders, took a closer look at our tarantula friends, built dinosaur castles, picked numbers and drew that many spider eggs and dug around in the sensory table.

Jesus Time was spent singing some favorite songs, praying and learning more about how David helped his family before he became King. We also extended the story to talk about David and Goliath! I love to hear children recount this Bible story!

We spent some time outside on the hill today. We chased bunnies on the Concordia Lutheran Church Wildlife Reserve. We've seen bunnies, quail, squirrels and signs of other animals just on the hillside! It was a wonderful day to chase bunnies and run in the cool fall air.

Music with Miss Marsha was fabulous. We danced like leaves, played the sticks as we sang about Noah's ark and practiced our bird songs.

Monday, October 18, 2010

Spider Webs

We started our spider week this morning counting spider legs, making our own spider books, painting spider webs with white paint and marbles, picking a number and drawing that number of spider eggs in the egg sac, and singing a spider web song! Check out the art hanging above the cubbies and on the big bulletin board to see sample of what we've been working on!

Jesus Time was about David helping his brothers by taking them food at the army camp. With the help of the preschoolers, we also heard the story of David and Goliath! We also learned a new song that we will continue to practice and learn.

We had music with Miss Marsha and we got to dance like leaves blowing in the wind. We used bight colorful dancing scarves as we did our leaf dance. We also played instruments and sang the bird songs that we have been learning.

On Friday at noon the church will be having a craft sale and some set up will be taking place during preschool hours. This will not interfere with preschool at all, but we will not have extended pick up on Friday. Please be sure to promptly pick up your preschooler on Friday since we will need to "close up shop" quickly. Thanks!

Spiders!

This week is all about spiders! No worries for those of you who have children a bit afraid of these 8 legged creatures, it is a very happy spider week! We will be learning some spider web songs, discovering spider facts, making our own spider books, making webs with a variety of art supplies, working with the number 8 and more. It sure to be a playful and fun filled week!

During our handwriting time we will be using our wood pieces and capital letter cards to discover more about how the letters are formed with big lines, little line, big curves and little curves!

Our Bible story this week is “David Visits His Brothers.” We will learn about David taking food to his brothers, and we just might have to talk about Goliath too! Our focus will be about helping people in our family as a way to show God’s love!

In our art time with Miss Holly we will be making our very own pumpkin stamps and focusing on the color orange!

May God bless you richly this week!

Thanks Pastor Dudley!

We took time today to let Pastor Dudley know how much he is appreciated. We had cake with him at snack time and he received the apron we made for when he is at the grill! He loved it! The kids had a great time.

SHARE Day was lots of fun. The kids do a great job waiting for their turn to talk. They also give wonderful information about their special items.

We had chapel with Pastor Dudley today and art with Miss Holly. During art we learned all about leaves and then tried our hand at leaf rubbings. Our focal color was green. We also had a tremendous time running on the hill by the playground during outside time. We saw a bunny, collected leave, laid on the grass to see the sky and burned lots of energy from our cake! We are enjoying these fall days as much as we can!

Party!

We had a wonderful little party for Pastor Dudley today, complete with homemade chocolate chip ice cream, made by us during centers time! We are indeed very thankful for a Pastor who loves children so much and one the kids adore. Thanks Pastor Dudley!

During centers, we painted a mural of sheep in a pasture as we talked about David caring for the sheep. We also played some music, rolled the ice cream ball around, played with some playdough and built a dinosaur castle!

Jesus Time was lots of fun as we cared for our sheep. Ask you preschooler about it.

The weather was fantastic for some outside time. We ran, rode bikes, dug in the sand, teeter-tottered, and went down the slide. We were busy!

We all scream for Ice Cream!

What did we do today? All kinds of things! The tastiest things we did was make delicious vanilla ice cream in a big ball that we rolled all around. It was crazy fun and it tasted soooo yummy! We also worked on Pastor Dudley's gift for our party of Thursday, painted ice cream cones, and drew some great pictures just to name a few.

During Jesus Time we learned about David caring for the sheep and that he protected them from a wild animal. Ask your preschooler what kind of animal David saved the sheep from! We also practiced our song helping us memorize our Bible verse.

Music with Miss Marsha was spectacular as we continued to learn songs, chose different ways to keep the beat (the teachers were exhausted after this!), met Spidey the spider, and had fun with three little birds... the mountain bluebird, the robin and the chickadee!

Our chart today helped us decide what kind of dessert to have for Dudley's party on Thursday. We decided on cake, decorated with half chocolate frosting, half vanilla frosting, chocolate chips and frosting flowers!

Mittens

As our preschool day began, it became clear that taking advantage of a wonderful teachable moment was much better than following my lesson plans! The preschoolers were so excited about their mittens that they all wore them to opening circle. We talked about their colors and read a book about a lost mitten! We also discovered the difference between mittens and gloves! What a wonderful change of plans!

We worked hard on our gift for Pastor Dudley today. It is going to turn out quite nice and be very special. Ask your preschooler what they did! We also started an ice cream cone project. The cone was made today, and Wednesday they can top their cone with ice cream to finish their project. Mosaic art, musical instruments, doll house, dinosaurs and number games were also part of our morning.

Jesus Time talked about David helping his family by caring for the sheep. We learned a song that helps us remember our verse from the Bible. It is an easy song that your preschooler can sing to you. If they don't know if quite yet, they will by the end of the week!

Music with Miss Marsha was lots of fun too. We had three birds visit us today and a spider! We also sang a song about a frog in a bucket. This was a fun action song and we all became frogs!

On Wednesday we will be making ice cream for our celebration in appreciating Pastor Dudley. We are looking forward to it!

This is our last week discovering stores. This week will be full of fun as we discover the ice cream shop! We will be engaging our senses with temperatures and smells as well as textures and tastes! We will be making our very own ice cream too. Some fun art projects are in part of the plan too. SHARE Day is also this week, on Thursday and Friday. Please have your preschooler bring something to share with the class. Help your preschooler choose 3 things to say about their item!

During our handwriting time we will focus in and training the fine motor muscles in used for handwriting. We will be working on establishing proper grip too.

Our Bible story this week is “David Helps His Family.” We will learn about David caring for the family’s sheep. Our verse is “With love, help each other.” Galatians 5:13. We will learn about showing God’s love by helping one another.

I Couldn't Be Prouder!

We had a fantastic field trip to the bakery today! Thank you to all the parents who came along and helped drive to Dissmores. We had a few of our 3 day preschoolers come along too! I was so proud of our group, such wonderful listeners and very attentive to Baker Brett! They were captivated by the huge mixer that mixed the dough for french bread. They loved watching the dough be cut up and rolled into balls. The adults found it quite interesting too! The oven was HUGE and we ended with a cookie and balloon! Ask your preschooler what they thought was the best thing at the bakery.

We got back to the preschool in time to have art with Miss Holly. We made pictures on white paper construction paper shapes. Black, red, yellow and blue were the colors we used.

Remember, no preschool tomorrow! have a wonderful weekend!

Fun Pictures of Stuff We Do!

Wheat!

Lots of Wheat

Wheat in the sensory table was a very popular choice for the preschoolers today. We even ground some of the wheat into flour. The preschoolers also dictated a recipe for our preschool recipe book. They sound fantastic! Dinosaurs and marbleworks were also popular choices today. We did some painting with scrapers and floor mural art too!

At opening circle we wrote a story about the bakery. Each preschooler contributed to our story!

We had Chapel with Pastor Dudley and he taught us about 10 people who were very sick and Jesus healed them. Only one person came back to say something to Jesus. Ask your preschooler what he said!

Remember, no preschool on Friday!

If you are a M,W,F family and want to come to he field trip tomorrow, you can meet us a Dissmore's at 10:30!

Oops!

We have a field trip on Thursday at 10:15 and I neglected to hand out the permission forms. I will be emailing them to the T/Th families and will also have them available Thursday morning. Big oops... so sorry!

We had bakery fun today as we baked muffins and ate them at snack time. We learned about bread from around the world, sang a very silly alphabet song, and learned about the letter B. We also ground flour out of wheat and did some watercolor painting. Miss Marsha came for music at the end of the day and we played the bells, glockenspiel, and tone bars. We also did a snake dance and sang about bluebirds. Very fun!

Jesus Time was the story about Samuel anointing David as king. We talked about obeying God even when it seems hard.

Concordia Lutheran Preschool's Bakery

We had a great time baking up pumpkin muffins today! A BIG thanks to our parent volunteer who came to help out! The preschoolers helped mix up the muffins and at snack time they each made their own "frosting" out of cream cheese and honey, frosted their muffin and added sprinkles. Then, of course, we ate them!

Preschool is a wonderful place to learn many social skills and prepare for Kindergarten. As children become more comfortable with one another, they will sometimes run into conflict. This is very natural and preschool is a safe place to learn necessary social skills in dealing with conflict. It is wonderful to watch the preschoolers begin to negotiate through their conflicts, search for words to use rather than reacting harshly, learn to compromise and share! These are skills that will continue to grow and mature as the year goes on. It is a pleasure to be part of that process with your children!

Music with Miss Marsha was great fun. We played the bells, sang about birds, played instruments and did a snake dance. Ask your preschooler what he or she liked the best!

Baking Together

The Bakery is next on our journey of learning about different kinds of stores! We will be baking pumpkin muffins and eating them for snack, looking at bread from around the world in a Big Book, cooking up a storm in dramatic play with our new cookware and adding a page about the bakery to our journals. On Thursday at 10:15am we will be taking a field trip to the Dissmore’s Bakery. If your child does not attend preschool on Thursday’s, you and your child are welcome attend with us, but you will need to stay with your child. Siblings are welcome to attend as well!

During our handwriting time we will be learning about directional positioning such as vertical and horizontal. We will be using our new friends “Big line” and “Little line” in a fun game to learn these directions.

Our Bible story this week is “Samuel Obeys God” (1 Samuel 16:1-13). We will be learning about obeying God just as Samuel did when he was going to anoint a new king.

Have a blessed week!

Good Times With Friends

Today was very pleasant as the preschoolers played quite well with one another. We had clay creations being formed, a doll house scenario going on, a train being built, flowers being made out of various art supplies, farm busy at work and letter being formed with magnets. We also spent a short few minutes journaling about what we would do if we were flowers. The preschoolers illustrated their stories and they are now in their binders!

We had chapel with Pastor Dudley and we learned about praying all the time. We sang some wonderful songs and prayed together.

Outside time was fabulous as we soak in these wonderful fall days with warm sunshine.

Our field trip next week will be on Thursday, October 7 to Dissmore's Bakery. We will leave at 10:30am. We need parent volunteers to help drive, so if you are interested in coming along, please let me know!

Trip to Neils' Flower Shop

We had a wonderful time on our field trip to Neil's flower shop! We had lots of parent help... a HUGE thank you to those parents who came along for the trip. We had a few T/Th friends come along too! At the flower shop we saw where customers pay for their purchases, the room where the flowers arrangements are put together, the cold room where flowers are stored and we even were able to watch Mitch the florist put and arrangement together. It had a lot of beautiful flowers in it! It was a beautiful day for a trip to the flower shop!

Making Music

Music with Miss Marsha was a HUGE highlight of our day. The children loved listening to the Mountain Dulcimer, dancing like birds, playing the bells, and singing the firefly song after reading about a lonely firefly. Miss Marsha had hold of their attention and I think they could have gone on with music for a very long time!

During opening circle we made a list of things we new about a flower shop... what we would find in one. The list was quite impressive. I have it posted on the doors outside the preschool classroom. Today we were more successful in making our clay flowerpots... I think these teachers have the technique down! We also made floral arrangements, played marbleworks, flower shop and read some great books.

Outside time was delightful with the warm sunshine and gentle breeze. The preschoolers rode bikes, drew with chalk, climbed, went down the slide, chased bubbles and dug for treasure.

I am certainly enjoying watching new friendships grow and bloom all around. The preschoolers have really found themselves at home and I couldn't be happier. They really are extraordinary children!

Flower Shop

I must say that today was one of my favorite days so far this school year. We had so much fun with the flower shop! During circle the class worked together to write a poem about the flower shop. I'm at home now and left the poem at school, but I will try to post it tomorrow. We had so much fun finding words that rhymed!

Centers was full of lower power. We made silk floral arrangements with blocks and floral foam for the base, played with floral moss, peat pots and silk flowers in the sensory table, decorated dramatic play and building as a flower shop and worked with brown clay to try and form pots (they stuck to the trays so we will have to try this project again). Some major building with blocks took place along with a dinosaur village at the circle carpet.

Today was our first day of music with Miss Marsha! Each preschooler had a turn to hold a puppet and sign a song during music time. Ask your preschooler what kind of puppet it was! A bird also came to visit, they might like to tell you about it's color. We played bells, sangs songs, danced, and listened to the Mountain Dulcimer. It was great!

Flower Time!

It’s FLOWER TIME!!! This week will be all about the Flower Shop. We will be forming clay flower pots, making floral arrangements, selling flowers, playing with moss, journaling about flowers, observing flowers at our science table, creating flowers out of various materials and more. Of course we will be taking a close look at the letter F as well. Our M/W/F group will be taking a field trip to the flower shop on Wednesday. Next week our T/Th group will be visiting a bakery. Keeping the Beat

We had a fabulous time this morning keeping the beat to the rhythm of our poem. I used the lollipop drum to keep the beat and the preschoolers used bells. We tired normal speed, slow speed and fast speed. Can you guess which speed they liked the most?

During centers we continued to work on our Shore Store, did some journaling, sent lots of mail in our classroom mailbox, investigated ice in the sensory table, played with shells and made some chef hats!

Jesus Time focused on the story of Moses leading the people through the Red Sea and how God took care of His people. We talked about how the people sang praises to God after they made it through the sea. We learned a song in English and Spanish too. Ask your preschooler to sing it for you!

Monday, September 20, 2010

A Store on the Shore

We had a sandy day at preschool today as we began to create our own store on the shore. Each preschooler added an item to the store, ask your preschooler what they took to the store! We did a little bit of rhyming at opening circle today too.

During centers we created sea collages on a sandpaper background, sorted and observed many different sea shells (we listened to the ocean too), has impromptu puppet shows, and played in our shore store.

We heard the story of the path through the Red Sea at Jesus Time. We also learned a new song in both English and Spanish.

The rain kept us inside, so we had set up an obstacle course inside. It included a tunnel to crawl through, cones to weave through, hoops to hop in and stepping stones to balance on. We listened to some great music as we played.

Our day finished by celebrating a birthday with one of preschool friends! Mmmm, yummy cupcakes!

Thank you everyone who kept my family in prayer last week. My daughter is recovering well and we are all healthy again! Mrs. Krantz

Upcoming this Week

This week we will be turning part of our room into a store at the shore! The children are familiar with the book George’s Store at the Shore from readings last week. This week we will be bringing that story to life, with a little bit of our own preschool creativity! Look for a Shore Store in the classroom, sea collages, sorting money for the store, and melting ice in the sand to be part of our “shorely” fantastic week!

Our Hand writing time will focus on writing a big line down and a little line across. Look for the worksheet I will be sending home in your mailbox to explain the handwriting strokes we will be using in our room!

Our Bible story this week is “A Path Through the Sea.” This will integrate well into our shore store! I am looking forward to seeing just how the preschoolers will work these together! Our verse is “I thank and praise you, O God.” Daniel 2:23. We will focus again on God’s love and care for each one of us.

Thursday is Picture Day. We will be staying very clean on Thursday and will do our best to keep your preschooler “picture ready” for his or her turn for individual photos. If you plan on having additional family member photographed, please let me know ASAP.

Have a blessed week!

SHARE Day

I must say that my preschool children are amazing! Their first SHARE circle together was wonderful. Each preschooler waited patiently for their turn, shared about their item and listened carefully to each one of their friends! It was so fun to see what each child brought and to hear about their special items.

Centers time was full of fun with moon sand work, shapes bingo, journaling activities, making letters out of play dough, open art and playing with SHARE items. Chapel with Pastor Dudley was next. We always begin chapel with the sign of the cross and the invocation. Each week we have a candle lighter who helps light the candles on the altar. Then we sing and Pastor reads from the Bible telling us about how much God loves us. We pray and sing some more and end with the benediction. The candle lighter then helps extinguish the candles. Today Pastor showed us some very small seeds and then he showed us what grew from those seeds. Ask you preschooler about it... it was VERY tall.

Art with Miss Holly happened today and we focused on the color yellow. She showed us painting of Vincent Van Gogh and then we painted pictures of sunflowers. The paintings turned out amazing, each unique and beautiful!

The Bubble Store

Our unit on "STORE" has created lots of fun opportunities for learning! Today we have a pet store, grocery store, train store and even a bubble store outside! The preschoolers were really enjoying creating store environments! Miss Annie, a beloved congregational volunteer, was with us today and worked on journaling with the preschoolers. The journaling prompt was, "When I got to the store..." Each week we will have a journal prompt that will be put in your child's binder. At the end of the year, your child will have written and illustrated his or her very own preschool book!

The preschoolers have also been busy playing with baby Moses from our Bible story last week. At one point, I had 4 babies in my arms, all from the floating basket! It is wonderful to see them remembering and playing through the stories we have been learning.

During Jesus Time we played a traveling games, much like red light, green light. Just like Moses took his people on a big trip out of Egypt, we took a big trip in our game. We learned that God cares for us where ever we are!

Sink or Float?

We played in the water a little bit today. We engaged in a Science Investigation testing items in the classroom to see if they would sink or float. Each preschoolers found something from the room to test. They could extend their investigation during centers time to test more items if they chose to. We talked about Moses in the basket and that the basket didn't sink, it floated!

Centers time included more sinking and floating, beading, painting, reading stories, taking care of babies and more.

Our Bible verse/thought for the week was finished up today. This is what we learned...
"God cares about who?
God cares about you!
As far as I can see,
God cares about me!"

The preschoolers met Miss Holly Hein, our wonderful art teacher! She asked each child his or her name and their favorite color. She read a wonderful story about painting! Miss Holly will come every Thursday at 11am to have art time with the preschoolers.

Thank you for a wonderful first two days with the T/TH group! I believe this is going to be a wonderful group of children to teach! I am also enjoying the opportunity to get to know you, the parents, a little bit better. I hope that we can partner together to provide the best preschool experiences for your child!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Today was another wonderful day at preschool. It was so great to see returning preschoolers and get to know our new students as well. We learned the names of all of our preschool friends, sangs songs about the days of the week and months of the year, and talked about the weather.

At centers time we explored the room and tried out different activities. The preschoolers had fun with our new felt board, painting projects, sticker art, building, moon sand, letter bingo and more. If was fun to see new friendships being made!

We had Chapel with Pastor Dudley today. Ask you preschooler what Pastor lost. We helped him find it and then he told us the parable of the lost coin. We sang songs and prayer together.

Outside time was full of energy with bike riding, sand box digging, playing belly ball and volleyball, drawing with sidewalk chalk and running around. It was great dun for everyone! It really was a wonderful day!

A Fantastic First Day

Fantastic is the only word that I can use to describe our first day of preschool with this group of kids! Everyone was so eager to be in preschool and excited to see what the room was all about. We started off with our welcome song, calendar and weather. We got to know one another through a name song, "Hickity, Pickity." We also heard a story about some friends in a cookie jar. The preschoolers watched the story on our felt board as it was read.

We explored the classroom and played with many different things found in the room. Marbleworks, restaurant, painting, open ended art, dry erase boards, observing rocks with hand lenses and moon sand were just a few of the things going on in the room. It was wonderful to see the preschoolers exploring their new environment and feeling at home enough to try out new things!

Jesus Time was about baby Moses in the basket and knowing that God cares about each one of us. Ask your child this question, "God cares about who?" They should know the answer! We even sang a song with the answer. We prayed a prayer of thanksgiving to our caring God.

Digging for jewels was the main attraction on the playground. Riding bikes, sliding and riding the teeter totter were also lots of fun.

We closed our day with our chart. Each day we choose several activities from the day and then each child votes for their favorite listed activity. We create a chart and talk about terms like "most" and "least." Ask your child what they voted for today!

WELCOME!

Welcome to a new year at Concordia Lutheran Preschool! We are very excited to teach your preschoolers and share the love of Jesus with them!

This week we will be focusing on learning the names of our new friends, exploring the classroom, learning the routine of the morning and becoming comfortable with the room and one another!

Each week we will focus on one Bible story and a simplified Bible verse. Jesus Time will include learning the story, playing games, singing lots of songs, praying together and learning our verse of the week. A fun story sheet will be put in your mailbox each week that corresponds with what we are doing in the classroom. It has a story on one side and a fun activity on the other. It is a wonderful opportunity to extend learning at home and fun faith building activity for you to do with your child. It is purely something for you to use at home, it does not need to be returned.

Again, we are so very excited to have the opportunity to be such a special part of your preschooler’s life. We are continually blessed by your children. THANK YOU!!!

Mrs. Krantz and Mrs. Barrington

Have a Wonderful Summer!

Today was the last day of preschool for our T/Th crowd. We have had a fabulous year together and both Mrs. Barrington and myself feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to teach these amazing children. We will miss them all. Some will be moving on to Kindergarten in the fall, but others will join us again in September! Either way, there will be new adventures for all. Our prayers are with you this summer as you enjoy family time, exciting summer outings, and new discoveries each day with your children!

May the Lord bless you and keep you now and always!

Wonderful Days

Thank you to every family for coming to the closing program and graduation! It was a wonderful evening recognizing your wonderful children and the great year they have had in preschool!

The last two days in class the preschoolers have been busy with centers of their choosing. They each picked a favorite activity from the year and we have been doing those favorite things. They also made plans for the end of the school year parties. Notes went home for items we need donated for the parties. If you are able to contribute, please email and let me know what you will be bringing.

We had also had music with Miss Marsha both on Monday and Tuesday. She really is an amazing music teacher and I am so thankful for her teaching the love of music to the preschoolers!

I will be gone tomorrow as my daughter is once again ill. I will be in class on Thursday and Friday.

A HUGE THANK YOU!!!

A special thank you to everyone who volunteered time and donated items for the rummage sale! We made just around $600 for the preschool! This will go a long way to enhance the preschool for next fall. We could not have done it without volunteer help, so again and again... THANK YOU!!!

Monday Night!!!

Our Closing Program and Graduation is set for Monday, May 24 at 6pm. The preschoolers will give a performance and our graduates will be recognized! Following the program will be a PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE snack and dessert potluck!

Our Last Week

Can it be possible that this is the last week of preschool? The year certainly went by quickly! This week we will be making a list of our favorite activities and then we'll make sure and get them done before the week is over. On Thursday and Friday we will also be having an end of the year party!

This week during Jesus time we will be learning John 3:16 and talking about the love of Jesus!!

We can not thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to invest in the life of your children! We have been blessed beyond measure. Have a wonderful summer full of family fun and adventure!

Seed Art

Miss Holly came in today for art to created art out of seeds! The preschoolers were very focused and really enjoyed creating art with glue and seeds. Their artwork was amazing! Their masterpieces are drying and will come home soon. It was fun to see how proud they were!

We are getting ready for the rummage sale. Tomorrow morning we will be sorting items for the sale and getting everything set up. If you have some extra time to help out, we would love your help! We also still need help hauling things off on Saturday at 1pm when the sale is over.

Mid Week Fun

We had a busy day! Practice makes perfect, and I am so proud of the preschoolers as they continue to practice for Monday's program! During centers they were busy making signs for the program and creating decorations for the sanctuary. We also worked on BIG floor puzzles with Miss Annie and did speed building with cups... timers and all! They LOVED it!

Outside time was fabulous with lots of treasure hunting for gems. The gems/jewels won the vote for the the favorite activity of the day!

Silly Little Mouse!

While we had lots of options for fun today, most of the preschoolers got busy making decorations for next week's program! They made some amazing creations. I look forward to displaying them next week. They also played alphabet bingo with our congregational volunteer Annette, and did obstacle course work with our parent volunteer Tiffany.

Music with Miss Marsha was fabulous. I will venture a guess that the mouse and kitty puppets were the favorite. Ask you preschooler about them!

I'm racing against an electrical storm, so that's all I'll write for tonight!

This is a great event and a way to get some wonderful new things for the preschool! Thanks for your help.

Making Prints

Preschoolers today created their own prints while enjoying art with Miss Holly. They used Styrofoam trays and made pictures in the tray with pencils. Then they used foam paint brushes to paint over their picture and pressed paper onto the paint. When they pulled the paper off, they saw a print of their picture! The preschoolers were very excited by this new art experience!

We also practiced for the program, helped each other out during Jesus Time, and enjoyed outdoor centers. Ask your preschoolers how they helped a friend during Jesus Time and what their favorite activity outside was!

Fun in the Sun

We got started this morning by practicing for our closing program. It's sneaking up quickly! We enjoyed the sunshine today and had centers outside. We dug for treasure in the new sandbox, built with block, played soccer, danced with streamers, drew with chalk and just enjoyed being outside. We had chapel with Pastor Dudley ate snack and headed back outside for a bit more sunshine. The preschoolers ended the day by listing all of the things we did today. It was a great list!

Remember to save your rummage sale stuff for Monday! I could still use volunteers to help haul stuff away after the sale. It goes very quickly with lots of help!

Rummage Sale

Next Monday you can starting bringing your stuff for the May 22 rummage sale! I know I have a big pile ready to bring! We can use any and all donations for the sale. All money made goes directly to enhance the preschool. I still am looking for help after the sale is over to clean up and haul the extra stuff away. We could use a few more sorters on Thursday and Friday too. Please let me know how you are able to help.

Getting Ready!

This week we will be spending some time practicing and getting ready for our closing program! The preschoolers will be helping plan the big event and then we will get down to business preparing for our performance. They will be making posters to hang around the church too! We will also be having some centers time outside as weather allows. Numbers will also be hiding around the room for preschoolers to find and identify.

Our Jesus Time story of the week will be about the young boy helping keep Paul safe. Our verse is "Do good to all people." Galatians 6:10.

If you get a chance, take a look at our new sandbox in the playground area! Thanks to Kirk and Mellissa Dugger for all their work getting it installed!

Fabulous Friday

We had a wonderful day today! The sun was shining and all was well! The preschoolers did a fabulous job during SHARE circle. It is great to see how their skills for speaking in front of a group have improved over the year. Centers was full of musical instruments, stamping, forming letters out of play do and building towers with cups. We had some fun with prisms at the science table too!

Jesus Time was all about how God made Mommy's to care for us! I heard over and over just how much your children love you!

Have a wonderful weekend and a marvelous Mother's Day!

Fire Station

We had a wonderful morning at the District 12 Fire Station today! Alvina's Daddy is a volunteer firefighter for District 12 and he showed us all of his gear, lots of pictures and we even were able to crawl around in the big fire truck and ambulance! We saw gear for fighting building fires and wildfires. The kids had so much fun as they had some wonderful hands on learning!

Truck Tunes

This morning we learned a poem called "Truck Tunes." Before reading the poem, we talked about all the types of trucks we had seen before, including fire trucks. We made a secret gift for Mommy's, but all you Mommy's will have to wait until Sunday to find out what it is! We painted with trucks, making awesome tracks on the paper. The room was full of cats, dogs and owners this morning too!

We spent time thanking God for our Mommy's and hearing that God is like a mother hen, who takes us under His wing of protection!

With the cold wind, we had a super fun obstacle course inside for gross motor time. We played some fun music and crawled through tunnels, walked bumpy paths, balanced on stones, jumped from hoop to hoop and jumped through a ring. Great fun!

Our annual Rummage Sale is set for May 22. We need your help in several areas. We will need people to help sort the items and set up on May 20 and 21. We will need people to help run the sale on the 22 and people to hall off the leftovers after the sale is done. I'm also looking for someone to take over the publicity for the event. All money made goes directly to enhancing the preschool! Please let me know how you are able to help. We also need your stuff that you are looking to find a new home for. We will not be taking donations until the the week before the sale, so hold on to your stuff for just a little bit longer!

Fun Stuff Ahead

We are finishing up our Firefighter unit this week. On Thursday we will be taking a field trip to the District 12 Fire Station. The M/W/F kids are welcome to come along! (Just be at preschool by 9:30 when we plan to leave or meet us at the fire station.) We will need parent volunteers for driving. Please let Mrs. Krantz know ASAP if you can drive and how many car seats fit in your vehicle.

During Jesus Time we will be thanking God for Mommys! We will learn just what our Lord thinks about Mommys and talk about what we love about our own Mommys!

I enjoyed meeting with you last week during conferences. You all have amazing children... and you are amazing parents!

A Short Week

We have a short week, but it won't be short of fun and learning! The preschoolers will be picking out some of their favorite songs and poems we have been learning in these past few weeks. We'll be counting, rhyming, discovering patterns and more in these two days.

Handwriting time will be working with our wood pieces to forms letters with big and small curves.

During Jesus Time we will be learning more about Paul and his love for the Lord. We won't have chapel since it is a short week.

I am looking forward to conferences with each of you!

Police Officers!

Today we had a visit from a few of our preschool Dads! Evan's Dad, Tyler's Dad and Gracie's Dad all came into. Tyler and Evan's Dads are police officers and Gracie's Dad is the Chaplain for the Pullman Police Department! We learned all about what they do, passed around the heavy handcuffs, climbed in the car, saw the flashing lights and even heard the loud sirens! It was great for the preschoolers to see that police officers are very friendly and not someone to be afraid of. Each preschooler was given a junior Police Officer sticker badge! Pretty fun.

After out visitors left, we went to work building with cups, working with the play-do, stamping abc's, writing with chalk and lots more. Jesus Time was a ll about singing and praying. We also danced as we sang. There are so many ways to praise our Lord!

Since the rain was POURING down, we did some parachute play inside. Ask your preschooler what their favorite part of playing with the parachute was!

Tuesday's Happenings

We had a fun and energy filled morning as we learned about 911, made firefighter helmets, painted fire trucks and pretended to be all kinds of animals! We also had a fire drill today. We sang songs of praise as we heard about Paul singing in jail during Jesus time. The weather was fantastic and we spent time running up and down the hill, digging in the sand and gravel and absorbing all the sunshine we could!

Music with Miss Marsha was great as always. The preschoolers LOVED the snake dance. Ask them about it!

Fire Truck!

What an exciting morning we had at preschool! It started off with SHARE day where the preschoolers shared all about their items from home. Then, the FIRE TRUCK and FIRE FIGHTERS came! Olivia's Daddy, Jay, and a few of his fire fighting colleagues came to the preschool to show us the truck and tell us all about being a fire fighter. The kids had some great questions and shared some of their knowledge about fire fighting! It was a beautiful day to be outside admiring the fire truck!

We had a great time at chapel with Pastor Dudley. The preschoolers really enjoyed snack time today and had some wonderful conversations at the snack table. After snack we headed back outside for playground time. A bunny was hiding up in the trees so Mrs. Krantz tried to herd it down the hill so the preschoolers could see, but no luck. It was funny to see Mrs. Krantz try to herd a single bunny.

Enjoy this amazing weather!
